So I was thinking about how much I hated those jutsus, when a realization came to me:

Sasuke's new jutsu is Cock in Eye no Jutsu. Angered at Yamato's amazingly sexy Elongated Woody no Jutsu, he decides he has to compete with Konoha's best (clone) and brightest.

Unfortunately, Orochimaru is intent on saving his boy until he takes his body once and for all, and runs in to hold his hand. He looks to Kabuto to explain the situation.

Kabuto comes up with nothing but garbage, but the two settle on a high-five and a please round of girl power inspiring phrases.

Once again, Sakura does nothing.

Uh, Yamato blocked her, she clearly was going in for a punch. She did a heck of a lot more than Naruto this chapter, who just stood around doing nothing.

I think it's cute, Sakura is clearly falling in love with Naruto, in spite of herself- which means it's the real thing, not a crush like she had on Sasuke. The crush which is clearly dying now. Naruto still is in love with Sakura, so I think we'll get a NarutoxSakura kiss before long. And I will cheer. Sakura needed to dump her crush for Mr. Broody a LONG time ago, she's more like Naruto than she likes to admit, and being around him brings out her stronger side. But she's less afraid to act on it now after two and half years training.

I also think both people who've been training Sakura and Naruto the past two and half years would like to see Sakura and Naruto as a couple, for a number of reasons. Kakashi probably backs that too, after how they beat him on the bell test when they worked together. I say it was all Sasuke's fault they weren't able to get the bells the first time. ;)

I think Sakura's issues about showing her strong side goes way back, further than the wide forehead teasing. We haven't seen anything about her family- have we?

I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't an orphaned baby too. (A lot of the village was killed after all with the fox demon attack) Maybe she was taken in by distant relatives who let her know that her status in the family was low, she was there on sufferance. Tormented by young cousins about her status and looks as well. That would certainly lead to the Sakura we saw that tried to hide herself, that young Ino befriended. It would have also lead to the Sakura we saw who strived to be the smartest student- her way of proving her worth. She could have been just like Hinata but she had more emotional strength, and Ino's friendship certainly helped too. It made her want to battle to prove her worth (Just like a certain other character named Naruto).

Stop saying clearly. I personally ship YamaSaku, and I'm kind of wary on the 'clearly falling for Naruto bit'. She's talked to him less than the other two men there, so I don't see how that's clear.

It was all three of the student's fault they didn't get the bells the first time. Sasuke actually had the best chance.

Sakura has a family. She says so in like, chapter 2.

Clearly for these reasons:

1)Her nonverbal behavior around Naruto since the time jump, from the first time she saw him onward, definitely a gal falling in love: shy glances, asking if he thought she was "more womanly", etc...

2)Her actions when Gara almost died, she cried afraid they'd go after Naruto and he'd die.

3)Her actions when Naruto's fourth tail came out and afterwards when she tried to hide that her injury was due to Kyuubi posessed Naruto.

4)Going in for the punch at Sasuke in the recent chapter

Her feelings about Yamato I see as just normal teacher respect. She shows the same respect to Tsunade, actually even more to Tsunade. If you're going to "ship" Sakura with any adult I'd say Tsunade was much more likely.

The Sasuke comment about the bell test was a joke. But have to say, when Naruto and Sakura alone teamed up they suceeded.... ;)

"Having a family" doesn't mean that it's not relatives who adopted her as an infant because her parents died. She wouldn't remember her biological parents, of course. My point still stands here as well.

She shows extreme respect to Tsunade, by calling her -sama. Yamato doesn't get a -sama, or -san title. He's simply "Taichou". Throughout the recent chapters, the two of them have been seen carrying on completely normal, friendly conversations you usually don't have with someone unless you're comfortable around them.

Only because Naruto reads the same porn.

She said her parents. Besides, if she doesn't remember her biological parents, then it wouldn't make a difference anyways. There would be no angst or test involved.

I didn't blame Sakura for doing nothing... *sigh* I was just disappointed.

Anyway, I have to say I agree with ciardhapagan a bit. Perhaps it isn't quite "clear" per se, but if there is going to be romance in part two, It's probably going to be between those two.
As much as I am a rabid sasunaru fangirl, I do enjoy watching the potentially budding romance. Didn't both Sai and Yamato comment briefly about it?

But yeah, I'm not going to worry about it. =) sasunaru forever

Dunno about Sakura's past. I kind of doubt it's too angsty, or we'd have gotten a flashback sometime during her Sasuke obsession. =)

I just figured no flashback on Sakura's early childhood because it's a shonen comic, and she is only now starting to become closely emotionally connected to Naruto. Just pure speculation on my part there, considering the psychological background work he's done on Gara, Naruto, Sasuke

(and yeah I think there's a definite connection with Sasuke and Naruto, and even some sexual attraction on Sasuke's part toward Naruto. I definitely believe Sasuke is gay. Sai it's pretty obvious is, Ochimaru, Kabuto, and I think Yamato might be gay too. Naruto's drawn to girls- especially Sakura ;) but is quite capable of having emotionally intense friendships with guys (especially Sasuke and Gara)

Heh, not just Sai and Yamato but several others as well. It is a shonen manga after all, that's one of the normal "formulas" for shonen romances. (both shonen romance stories in and of themselves and romances in other type shonen stories as well. It's somewhat common in shoujo as well. It's more entertaining that way, have to say: Boy falls for girl, girl crushes on other boy of the aloof type, she vocally denies any attraction for main male character, develops friendship with main male character, starts to be attracted to main male character, has "slip-ups" that reveal her growing attraction, hits a crisis point where she has to choose and choses main male character because he turns out to be the better man.

This formula feels more "real" than some others as well- which is why it's a popular formula.) I'm just sitting back and watching how he writes it, that's the fun part. Would be truly amusing if Sakura makes the dramatic move- she initates their first kiss. (this fits with a varible within that formula, and considering the tendency to humor in this series the one I think he's more likely to take.) If Naruto were to iniate it and Sakura were drawn willingly into it, it would merely be a sweet romantic scene, but Sakura iniating it would make it funny as well as romantic.

Gay characters are getting more common in shonen manga. I haven't seen one yet where the main character was gay but some supporting characters, yeah. With fiction it's usually somewhat stereotypical with gay characters but Sai, Sasuke, etc... have shown common fictional personality tropes for being gay. Sai with his penis obession, Sasuke, zero interest in girls and prefers to hang around with guys rather exclusively, and so on. It's more subtle with say Yamato (actually more like reality) but the hot springs scene where he's with Sai and Naruto, definitely made me go hmmm, I think Yamato's gay too. Naruto also looked distinctly uncomfortable to be naked around both Yamato and Sai, even before Sai started on his penis meme.

Maybe you don't hang around guys that much, but that can be typical behavior for many males.

Considering Sasuke is twelve throughout most of the series, I think it's pretty natural for him not to hang around girls a whole lot.

Guys make penis jokes. They also don't really care about being in the nude around each other. Doesn't make them gay.

Because they already are a lot more emotionally closer than Jiraiya and Tsunade ever were. Jiraiya doesn't appear to have ever been into love, just sex.

Naruto finds Jiraiya's Make Out Paradise books rather boring. Naruto uses the sexy jutsu to throw people off, it's a battle tactic. He's not overly interested in hentai stuff, pretty normal teenage boy level. Even at 12 years old he was honestly in love with Sakura. (look at the scene where he assumes Sasuke's form and Sakura almost kisses him. Naruto pretending to be Sasuke fits Sakura's idealization of Sasuke far more than Sasuke ever does. Naruto isn't really acting like Sasuke, he's using the cover of Sasuke's form to express his feelings for Sakura. Naruto's personality now is more like that, and Sakura's inner and outer selves are mostly merged now, so she's paralleling him more in her feelings and actions.

Too little has been shared about the Sannin to indulge us on what kind of relationship those two really have. Besides, they do seem to be pretty good friends.

Even if you assume Naruto isn't that interested in porn (even though he reads Jiraiya's books), Tsunade has that whole Dan thing to keep her away from men. It's not impossible for that to happen to Sakura.

Jiraiya's books- Naruto read one, was bored by it and gave it to Kakashi (who he knew would be overjoyed to have it) As I said Naruto's interest in porn is certainly no more than your typical teenage boy.

Jiaiya and Tsunade are friendly but there's not much depth to the friendly feelings, nothing like the bond Sakura and Naruto have already. Kakashi actually noticed the beginnings of that when they were 12(that it went deeper than friendship), and it's so noticable now even people who've just met them (Sai, for example) are seeing it.

I'm just going along for the ride Kishimoto is taking us on, there's all kinds of pairings in the series for people to enjoy. If you like a pairing he's not doing, there's always fanfic. I have nothing againist fanfic, have written it myself, in various fandoms. I'm not interested in doing shipper battle, it's a dull timewaster.
