What we already knew? Or something different? CH363 Translations

Okay, this week, Vizmedia released volumes 38-41 of Naruto in English, and while there are a lot of translation choices that I could discuss, I found the translation of the last page of CH363 (Volume 40) to be really interesting. And I wanted to know if this makes people think it would change how they viewed this chapter and what happens later, because of foreshadowing, or if it doesn't change anything for anyone.

Any thoughts from anyone else about this or any of the other translation choices for the latest batch of manga volumes? Or is this just something unimportant that I'm over-analyzing?

KakaSaku - Icha Icha Violence Style

Yo! I haven't posted much to this comm, but I stalk it! o.o I figured it's time to step out of the shadows with my offering of racy porn. Yay!

I originally wrote this for the Naruto Anonymous Kink Meme but since it went from being a short, simple fic to a really long, detailed fic I want to take ownership of it and post it here. It's KakaSaku, which I don't normally ship - but the kink prompt just got my mind hooked and I felt compelled to fill the request ^^ I also read The Window by SilverShine while doing this and it was excellent motivation. I highly recommend it - it's amazing.

This fic is pretty dark and doesn't involve much romance. It's not very fluffy... kinda sandpaper-y. I don't think it'll leave anyone with the KakaSaku blues, though... -_^

Hello everyone!

I was reading an older issue of Psychology Today earlier, and came across something interesting in my reading. In the Impossible Experiments article (here’s the link to it: http://www.psychologytoday.com/rss/pto-20080717-000004.html), there was mention of the 50-0-50 rule, which basically says that “adult personality is roughly 50 percent genetic, 0 percent how we were raised by our parents, and 50 percent socialization by peers and friends”.

So, if this is true, then why is there so many fanfic that involve the parenting screw-ups on the part of Fugaku and Mikoto, in relation to how they raised Itachi and Sasuke? And, provided the rule is true, what were the environments around both siblings, both seen and implied (besides the really obvious stuff, such as The Massacre for Sasuke), that could have influenced them to become what they were/are later in the series?
