Naruto Fan Art

Just happened to be lurking for an old Japanese fan art site that I had come across awhile ago, and found that the artist also had up a number of Naruto pictures here.

Most are of Gaara, but towards the end, there are some misc. ones. It really is beautiful; I had been looking for pictures to make icons out of, but now I'm wondering whether or not I should because he/she asks that they are not redistributed/taken/altered, so I'm on the fence. D:

If you made icons (for LJ, I guess?) you'd be doing all three things that he/she asked not be done, so to me, it's clearly a "should not" situation.

If the artists asks that they not be altered, please do not use them for icons. This causes some artists to close their sites when they are angered that people do not honor request. Just save to your harddrive for your own enjoyment.

on the website it's written without written permission you can't. You can still try to send a mail to ask if you can etc.
after if the artist do not want, it's better you just keep for yourself even if it can be hard. =3

As a rule you shouldn't use any fanart in icons unless you have permission from the artist personally :) Some artists get *extremely* upset to find their work used or uploaded to another site.

Dude! I have been looking for that artist for a while. I've seen their art hosted elsewhere and wanted to track it down.

The link at the top will direct you to a full-length post on the subject, but here's my advice right here. If it's worth the trouble of people bitching at you constantly for "stealing" someone's art, then go ahead and make your icons, credit the artist, and just use those icons yourself. Don't post them in an icon post because that's likely to instigate even more of a backlash.

I do this all the time. Just know that the wank is annoying and ridiculous, so you have to ask yourself, "Is it worth it?"
