I read a lot of spoilers that said Suigetsu was going to be killed by Hachibi. Glad to see that isn't confirmed (yet?) Though maybe these fights won't seem really serious until Hawk starts getting picked off. Yay floweringan, anyway. Nothing about Naruto's training though. Incomplete spoiler?

The panel of fully transformed Hachibi looks well-executed though. Maybe there will be some pretty art this week.

I don't know. I suspect Suigetsu WILL get his chance to fight Kisame at some point. When Sasuke said that bit about Suigetsu not currently having the strength to fight Kisame, it immediately made me think perhaps Suigetsu will acquire a cursed seal for a power-up.

Holy Shit.

This fight is really getting serious. I was glad Team Taka was having such a hard time with Hachibi, but I don't know how they can win this. If Sasuke gets seriously injured a third time, is it going to be Suigetsu's turn to heal him? @_@ I think the other comments are right -- Akatsuki or someone else is going to have to bail them out.

Madara probably knew about Hachibi's power, so I wonder if he really believed Sasuke's team could take him. After all that trouble to 'make him his', it would seem kinda pointless to send him off to his death. =/

No way is Kishi offing his favorite. But that's... some really impressive damage he's letting Sasuke take there. I'm not sure how he's even still alive given that most of his throat was gone. Niiiice on the bitemarks all over Karin's chest too. The compatibility with Juugo's curse seal was kinda neat, I guess we can always count on some blood and action while following Sasuke's arc. No Naruto and frog oil, though. Damnit.

One thing that struck me this chapter too was how young Sasuke looked. Well, that and Teh Pretty that is Juugo. I still think they're going to manage to take Hachibi, but I don't know where Kishi's going with this.

The thing that threw me for the biggest loop was Sasuke yelling "Are you okay?!". Sasuke showing concern for anyone?? zomg!

Also he's been showing a lot more signs of weakness, he's lost his poker face. I feel like during the Deidara fight, even though he was struggling at points, he still kept his cool, didn't have a lot of facial expression, didn't really display signs of just how hurt/exhausted he was. And now right from the start he's panting, wincing, cringing, looking panicked, etc. Granted this time his enemy is way more powerful, but still, he doesn't seem to even be trying to mask these things like he has every other time we've seen him (pre-Itachi fight, and maybe it's all psychological as a result of that fight and the release [crying, finding out the 'truth', etc.] that's causing these changes in behavior) since Shippuuden started.

He's reminding me more and more of pre-timeskip Sasuke, in his mannerisms, his expressions, his actions. Less and less of the cold, robotic Sasuke we've seen him be with/since Orochimaru.

Damn, and Hachibi continues to rock on. Sasuke is finally seeming less invincible than ever and I, for one, couldn't be happier. He's been straddling that high horse for far too long and it's nice to have someone remind him that he isn't the crown prince yet. And that was an awkward metaphor, so I'm moving on.

I almost thought, for a moment, that his shades would be almost...anti-Genjutsu. And am slightly disappointed that they are not. Yet another corner for Sasuke to be in, eh? Not that it matters now, I suppose, as he is still well and truly fucked.

Rock on Juugo. You save your awesome Snakebird compatriots. And why is Snakebird a real word according to Firefox.

GOD Karin that is a lot of bite marks. One of them even looks...slightly fresh. BUT MAYBE I'M LOOKING A BIT TOO CLOSELY. Oh you crazy little masochist you.

Things are looking down. Seriously. I have no idea what Hachibi's full capabilities are going to be, but they should be intense. He is almost on par with Naruto and Kyuubi, after all. Nor do I know what Snakebird are going to do to fight him off, but it's going to be a desperate situation. There better be some teamwork coming out. If it's Sasuke saving the day, that will suck so hard.

Holy shit. Habichi is seriously kicking ass. I really like this guy. I just hope this isn't a set up to show how ZOMGSOSTRONG this character is so that Sasuke can own him with one little attack post-transformation to show how ZOMGSUPASTRONG Sasuke truly is. I really like Sasuke more when he's getting his ass handed to him.

And poor Suigetsu! No one is comforting him! He got turned to a puddle and they are only worrying about Sasuke. Bastards. ):

And the fight gets serious. Clever move from the Hachibi's jinchuuriki to move against the rest of the team when Sasuke is the one who does most of the fighting. And Suigetsu is separated from the other three now - I guess he will have an appearance in the next chapter, before Sasuke finally wins the day.

No, I don't doubt that he will finally win against the Hachibi's jinchuuriki, even though he has almost died twice in this fight. There are still his other MS-techniques, not only Tsukiyomi, and then I don't know how much power the MS will give him to control the Hachibi - not the jinchuuriki, but the hachibi itself.

He won't like having to use his MS-techniques, that's why he is still waiting, but he will have to in the end, and thus it will be him who saves the day. But he has been saved such a lot of times by his team by now that it won't matter.

And the beast protecting the jinchuuriki against genjutsu is of course fantastic, in case that Naruto will finally master the kyuubi, which he will, one day. People who are looking for a final battle between Naruto and Sasuke will like that.

The bitemarks on Karin's chest are scary.

That surprised me too, that he looked so worried and actually bothered to ask if they were ok. When he first formed the team he seemed much more "I don't give a fuck about any of you and barely even want to tolerate you, just be quiet and follow orders".

I'm kind of shocked at how grossly Sasuke has apparently underestimated Hachibi. You'd think he would be smarter than that. Before now, I would attribute it purely to over-confidence, but he hasn't come off as smug like he has before. His gaping chest/neck wound is the worst injury we've encountered thus far, isn't it? Most graphic, anyways, that I can remember.

I don't think there's any battle strategy Sasuke is going to be able to whip up. They need outside help. Suigetsu isn't even capable of a solid form, Juugo is going to be exhausted after healing Sasuke, Karin is already wiped out and doesn't even have enough chakra left to heal him again, much less fight Hachibi.

Madara or Hachibi's villagers or Kisame or someone is going to have to show up and intervene. Or Hachibi is going to have to lose interest and leave them for another day. That strikes me as the most likely. Something will come up that demands his attention more than Team Snakebird, he'll leave, and they'll be able to limp off to lick their wounds.

.. No, you know what seems more likey? Madara will show up, having known there's no way Sasuke and Co. could possibly stand a chance against the 8-tails. Madara will run him off and then be all "lol, Sasuke, you're weak, you need more power if you want to defeat Konoha" and he'll manipulate Sasuke into accepting power from him and pushing him further into whatever scheme he's working on.

OMGx100 for Karin's bitemarks... though I don't believe that ALL bitemarks belong to Sasuke... maybe a FEW but not all... Oh I will be so pissed if all that marks belonged to Sasu-cakes (since I'm a big Sasunaru retard fan, let's not push it... XD)... uh but anyway, Karin reminds me of the little boy in the coven of Armand in Interview with the Vampire wherein they need to bite the boy as sort of like an initiation to enter their coven... poor kids... that's gotta hurt... but at least Karin is cooler than Sakura! XD That's why I kinda like Karin, she's cool!

Yeay! I hope Suigetsu, Juugo and Karin will be the ones to figure out a way on how to beat Hachibi! Just sleep in the whole fight, Sasuke! That will be so great!!! The three of them finally kicking ass!!! ^___^

My prediction is that in the next chapter we will see Juugo, Suigetsu and Karin fight by themselves, without Sasuke's help - but that he will be the one to finally defeat him. (Sorry.)

lol are those really bite marks on Karin? They look far to perfectly spherical to belong to a pair of human teeth. I thought they were just weird seals. But oh well, fandom likes kink so bite marks it is until proven wrong.

Screw Naruto's plotline. He's just training. Him turning into a frog sometimes and getting whacked on the head doens't interest me as much as the Taka vs. Hachibi fight.

I think I actually like Sasuke a lot more with Team Hebi. He seems to function better with them, and he honestly seems like a more caring, less dismissive team-mate, for the most part. Reading Sasuke with Hebi has made me like Sasuke more because he's shown that he still has the capability to show caring for others and to work cooperatively with them.

Of course, when I look at it in this light, I do feel sad for Naruto and Sakura.

i like sasuke more on team hawk too. they all seem to actually care about each other and respect each other. like when suigetsu saves sasuke, and when he lets sasuke use chidori on bouth of them. and when karin and juugo bouth heal him. at first they just followed him to get what they want, but it seems to have changed.
