Hi there. Not sure, this has probably been discussed to death (I'm sort of new to to the Naruto community) but I wanted to know everyone's thoughts on this matter. Do you guys think Sasuke will ever go back to the Leaf village? Do you even want him to?

I always liked it better when Sasuke lived in the leaf village with the others and I think Naruto would be devastated if Sasuke stayed evil. But something big would have to happen to get Sasuke off the path he's on. Well what do you guys think?

sure I think Sasuke's gonna go back to the leaf village.. and KILL EVERYONE!! or at least try to... they survived a friggin' demon fox, i'm sure they can survive an emo Uchiha.

I'm gonna eagerly await the Naruto sequel where some not so random child was chosen to have Sasuke sealed inside of them... >.< Oh, god.. crack fic just started plotting itself in my mind!!!

Sasuke/Konoha focused plot is imminent.
Enough arcs have passed without any Naruto and Sasuke's interaction and I think Kishimoto already fully developed his character, he solved Itachi's question, he made Sasuke fight and interact with different teams and learn new abilities (in such an exaggerated and displeasing way but whatever) and made him more human. Naruto grew as an individual, as well, he faced the death of Jiraya, he went through hard missions and mastered new techniques. And most of all we seen his feelings for Sasuke's depart and his crave to get him back [this can be viewed both as pairing or gen].

There's no point of pursuing the manga this way, unless Kishi gives in to his main adoration and calls the manga "Sasuke" instead of "Naruto".
Now that Sasuke wants to destroy Konoha and Madara seems to support his insane plans, Sasuke and his old team are destined to meet again.
And this is what everyone honestly wants.

I actually prefer him outside of Konoha.

I guess I'm just not fond of Konoha?

Tricky question, given all the complications (and the inconsistent writing), the fact that Naruto's framing of the situation as 'saving his friend' is poorly reasoned, the fact that Sasuke's framing of the situation as 'grah! get revenge!' is poorly reasoned, and then there's Madara's allegations and.. yeah! Fun.

I have no idea what Kishimoto's going to whip out for this one, but if I were writing this sucker I'd probably assume that the Konoha elders (assuming they did order the massacre) were taking revenge upon the Uchiha for Uchiha wartime atrocities against their Senju clan. Which... lead to more atrocities, given that the wholesale slaughter of a clan is kinda the dictionary definition of such. Which then leads to... more revenge at Sasuke's hands this time. And now, given Sasuke's threats (though he saaaays he's lying to Madara when he talks to Hawk and vice versa when he talks to Madara)... we're in line for MOAR atrocities! Fun.

So it's a mess. Kishi'll probably deus ex machina it up nice and good either by having Sasuke make a deathbed redemption or a sudden realization by the Uzumaki Punch of Life-Changing Epiphany.

But yeah, given the choice between two simplistic stoopid badly written endings, I'd rather have the one where Naruto punches Sasuke and Sasuke finally realizes that he ought to get his butt out of that Senju/Uchiha cycle of violence tout de suite. I'm a Team 7 fangirl and a NaruSakuSasu type and yeah, I agree that Saucecakes, in that simplistic Kishi-writing way, was probably much happier when he let Naruto blunder into his spikey black little heart. I can't see Kishimoto ending the manga on a low note, so I'd imagine we'll be getting the Naruto Punched Me and I Saw The Light! ending.

And my inner fangirl will be okay with that and overlook the patchy writing and iffy plot logic (mostly). :D

I actually preferred Sasuke out of Konoha. =P There was no way he could have possibly grown while staying there, and I could see that he was frustrated being there. >.< He wasn't like Naruto and Sakura, and it was only natural that he'd go out and seek Orochimaru.

It's just my personal preferance, but I prefer Sasuke with Team Taka. =P They definitely have a unique dynamic going on, and I think Sasuke has learned to appreciate his Team 7 days through them. His character developed the most outside of Konoha. =P

But regarding your question -- yeah, I do think he's going to return to Konoha, although I have a hard time figuring out how ... he only has bad memories of the village where he family died, and it was the village that 'killed' his brother, so I don't know if he can bear coming back peacfully and pretending nothing ever happened. =P But meh, it's a shounen series for kids, so I suupose it's going to have a happy ending, with Team 7 reunited. ^^

A friend of mine has a pet theory that it will be Sasuke who will end up being Hokage, and Naruto ends up something like Jiraiya -- an incredibly powerful ninja who gives up the post of Hokage in favour of travelling. But meh -- who knows. ^^

I think Sasuke will go back to Konoha.

Whether he should, and whether it'll make any damned sense in the narrative or seem justifiable/sensible? Harder to say.

I like Sasuke better outside of Konoha. I don't think Naruto and Sakura are good for him anymore, and I don't think he's good for them (note, though, that I don't think any of them are necessarily "bad", just not good with one another, given how they have grown and changed).

I'm not sure at this point that I could buy redemption for Sasuke, as it were. I'm not saying it's totally out of the realm of possibility, but I kind of distrust how Kishi seems to handle him, of late.

do I think he'll go back to the leaf? yeah, I do.

do I want him to? hell no. I guess I'm not that fond of konoha, either, and I've enjoyed sasuke's character so much more since he left the village and pursued his own revengeful goals. idk I like him more when he's a fucked-up godmod.

He doesn't deserve to be accepted back. He's a deserter. It's unfair to let him come back after what he's done.

I would like it if Sasuke made peace with Konoha, came to terms with his past and moved on, somewhere else, preferably Otogakure. I find it hard to accept a situation (outside fanfiction) where Naruto is the Hokage and Sasuke is his loyal Anbu chief/bodyguard/whatever. As far as I'm concerned, they are equals. So, it should be Naruto as Hokage, Sasuke as Otokage and Gaara as Kazekage, heralding a new world of ninja. And once a year the three could come together for a Kage-style contest (like the Chuunin exam). The other kage could join in and the strongest gets bragging rights!

Unlike many people, I like Evil!Sasuke, I like that he left Konoha and went to Orochimaru, and I even like the fact that he now wants to destroy all Konoha. And I honestly respect Kishimoto for having the hero's best friend go over to the Dark Side, because it makes the story more interesting and gives it more depth, in my opinion (even though Kishi will probably ruin it with a clumsily executed "redemption"). Not that I don't want Sasuke to eventually decide against revenge, but I think Kishimoto intends by the whole "I'm going to kill everyone in Konoha" thing to maximize the drama and tension of the inevitable confrontation between Naruto and Sasuke. And I for one am totally on board with that. It does make things more exciting, for me at any rate.

I'm almost 100% certain that when that confrontation with Naruto (and possibly Sakura and Kakashi) happens, Sasuke will be brought to see the error of his ways and everyone will be friends again. That's just the kind of story Naruto is: the kind which has a happy ending, where good triumphs over evil, and the hero's determination and love for his friends pay off and change even the hardest hearts, causing them to choose a better way. Or something like that. Whether or not it will be done convincingly is another story.

As for what I want to happen... well, I suppose I'll be okay with Sasuke's ending up in Konoha, so long as it's not too ridiculously fluffy. I would rather he ended up somewhere else, such as rebuilding the Sound, or succeeding Madara as Mizukage, or something - still remaining friends with his former teammates, but not becoming a Konoha nin. He has every reason not to want anything to do with Konoha anymore, and I don't think he could realistically get over that, outside of authorial fiat. I'll be annoyed if it turns out Sasuke has had a repressed love for Konoha itself all along (as distinct from a repressed love for specific individuals in Konoha), and if Konoha is still presented as only place anyone in the world would want to be. Hopefully I'll be able to live with whatever Kishi comes up with, though... and if not, there's always fanfiction.

And hopefully I'll also find a good fanfic in which Sasuke never does return, and stays evil, and Naruto and the others just have to deal with that. And one where Sasuke succeeds in destroying Konoha and then has to live with that. Because I think those would make for interesting reading as well.

There's a thought that came to me some time ago: A really good ending cannot include the Elders still being in power. Whoever is Hokage then (Naruto?), he will have dealt both with Danzou and with the Councilors. Maybe this will make it possible for Sasuke to return to Konoha without a bad taste or a feeling of too much fluffiness and sweetness.

(And I would really prefer this to Naruto making him return to Konoha via some fight.)
