Somehow I cannot answer to the entry in your journal, so I answer here.

On the other hand, I don't think anyone expected Chouza to die in the battle. I mean we were all voting and doing polls (me) to see whether or no the nail will kill Kakashi or blind him or do something worse. But how did Chouza die, I mean I didn't see anything directly that was aimed at Chouza.

I thought that he might die, while I was pretty confident that Kakashi would survive chapter 424. I am not that confident about chapter 425. But Choza was a minor character, and with all this fighting going on, Kishimoto needed a believable death from a character that was a bit more than a random ninja, but not really developped and popular (though in "Naruto" every character is popular.)
