Help?

Hi! first post here by a long time lurker. 
I wanted to know about the Shippuuden fillers. I read in wikipedia that the fillers started in episode 56. Is that true (I don't know, I haven't started seeing shippuuden yet)? Meanwhile, I saw the ikimono gakari opening, and read somewhere that it had filler characters in it. Then, here, someone said that the fillers mixed canon with the filler story. I hate fillers (I didn't watch the Naruto ones), but, if it has canon mixed in it, it's worth seeing? Dunno. Can someone please explain this to me?

Hm, either 56 or 57. 56 has moments that appear in the manga.
Just so happens I'm watching those fillers right now. Personally, I don't recommend watching them. xD
From the beginning and end of the fillers they are blended in with canon, but in the middle there's only Naruto training with wind chakra.

Speaking of fillers, did anyone see that bit at the end of the latest Shippuden eps (86-87)? Was that an ad for MORE fillers? *wails*
