I'm thinking about maybe making a fan manga in the future, so I decided to draw Hinata (as she would be seen in it), as a start. Tell me what you guys think about it.

Well I don't think it resembles her too much. Also she doesn't really have a neck o_O But keep drawing, use references and you can do it.

Not to be rude, but have you ever seen volleyball? Part of making an accurate pass is bringing your shoulders up quite a bit. At least that's what my coach emphasizes. That would mean her neck's not really so visible.

That's true, but in your picture, the angle of the body isn't right for this neck. The head is lowered, yes, but the neck can should not disappear into the body. Her head should be looking up also if she's expecting a ball.
But I don't mean to offend you, I just think you can improve.

I agree with sapphireluna - it doesn't resemble Hinata very much. I'm not talking about the hair or color of the yes - just the general face and expression. If you hadn't said it was supposed to be Hinata, I wouldn't have recognized it. I do think it's a very pretty drawing, though. =]

And I would be greatly interested in a volleyball manga with the girls of Naruto! Be sure to post it if you ever get around to drawing it. ^^

How do you think I should do the face so it more resembles her? And what about the expression? I suppose I might need to study up on her a bit more, so any tips you have would help.

Hmm, well, I'm not exactly an expert myself (I don't draw), but I think the nose and mouth need to be adjusted. The mouth should be thinner, but I'm not sure exactly what can be done to the nose to right it. And I think the face lines should be smoothed out a little, because they're very sharp. Her face kinda looks like a triangle. Perhaps you can have a pic of Hinata in front of you as you draw her?

Oh, and I forgot to say I really like the position of your drawing. I play volleyball, so it looks pretty realistic to me. ^^

And yeah, I play volleyball, too, so I'm always thinking about "is this right? Are her legs shoulder-width apart? Are her hands okay?" I love volleyball and Naruto, so combining them sounds fun.
