SCROLL FROG: "{自来也}はワシに”ナルトへ蔵入りしろ”ゆーて死んだ 大ジジ様…！ワシャほんまにそれでえーんですかいの?"
"Jiraiya ha washi ni 'Naruto he kurairi shiro' yu-te shinda. oojiji-sama...! washya honma ni sore de e-n desu kai no?"
"Jiraiya done told me, 'Store it in Naruto,' before he died. Great Elder...! Should I really go ahead with that?"
[T/N - ohana gave Jiraiya's name in katakana. I've changed it to the kanji shown in the speech bubbles.]
[The scroll frog is shown sitting before the Great Elder frog's dais.]
SCROLL FROG: "{自来也}は ナルトが九尾の力を完全にコントロールできるゆーて実験したがうまくいかなかった"
"Jiraiya ha, Naruto ga Kyuubi no chikara wo kanzen ni kontoro-ru dekiru yu-te jikken shita ga, umaku ikanakatta."
"Now, Jiraiya said Naruto could control the Nine-tail's power completely, but he ain't ever tested it well."
SCROLL FROG: "ほいじゃけど{自来也}はミナトがそれを望んで九尾の半分をナルトに封印したゆーてきかんかった"
"hoija kedo Jiraiya ha Minato ga sore wo nozonde Kyuubi no hanbun wo Naruto ni fuuin shita yu-te kikankatta."
"He told me that was the point, what Minato wanted when he sealed half of Nine-tails in Naruto, but I'd never heard that."
[Fukasaku is seated on the steps nearby, looking back up at the Great Elder]
FUKASAKU: "大ジジさま…こやつはナルトの四象封印の鍵そのものですじゃ ナルトに渡しても大丈夫じゃろうか？どう思われます？"
"oojiji-sama... koyatsu ha Naruto no shishou fuuin no kagi sono mono desu ja. Naruto ni watashitemo daijoubu jarou ka? dou omowaremasu?"
"Great Elder... That there's the key to Naruto's Four Element Seal. Will we be all right handing that over to Naruto? What's your mind on it?"
[The Great Elder thinks]
GREAT ELDER: "… うずまきナルトをここへ呼ぶのじゃ そやつへの予言をワシが見る…事はそれからじゃ"
"... Uzumaki Naruto wo koko he yobu no ja. soyatsu he no yogen wo washi ga miru ... koto ha sore kara ja."
"... Call Uzumaki Naruto here. I'll see what prophecy lays on him. ... The matter will rest until then."

[There's some more splash text at the top that is, unfortunately, cut off. This page also announces that Vol. 51 will be released on April 30, featuring the Sasuke vs. Danzou battle, as well as saying something that's mostly cut off about "Naruto: Shippuuden -- The Lost Tower". This may be the name of a new movie.]

KARIN: "でね…大蛇丸にずっと過酷な労働を強いられて… "
"de ne... Orochimaru ni zutto kakoku na roudou wo shiirarete..."
"Y'see... Orochimaru was always forcing me to do harsh manual labor..."
KARIN: "その後サスケがボスになったらなったで か弱い女の子のアタシに無茶な命令ばっかで… 最後はゴミのように…！"
"sono ato, Sasuke ga bosu ni nattaranatta de ka yowai onna no ko no atashi ni mucha na meirei bakka de... saigo ha gomi no you ni...!"
"After that, when Sasuke'd become the boss, it was nothing but unreasonable orders, even for a weak little girl like me... And in the end, he threw me out just like trash!"
[T/N - Karin is very emphatically using the more retiring, cute-sounding "atashi" for her first person pronoun, rather than her normal pronoun, "uchi", as part of her attempt to gain sympathy and make herself look like a victim. In the last sentence, her words literally say, "In the end, in the manner of garbage...!" to imply that he treated her that way. I added the implied verb to make the sentence work in English.]
[A distance shot of Karin sobbing over the table, with two interrogators crying along with her and Ibiki sitting at a distance.]
KARIN: "う{あ}～ん！ウチだって被害者なのオ～！！"
"ua~n! uchi datte higaisha nano-o~!!"
"Waa! I'm a victim here too, you know!!"
INTERROGATOR: "そうか…つらかったねェ…"
"Sou ka... tsurakatta ne-e..."
"I see... You've been through some tough times..."
[Ibiki looks sternly at the proceedings.]
IBIKI: "お前の生い立ちを聞いてるんじゃない… ”暁” サスケ カブト についての情報を聞いている"
"omae no oitachi wo kiiterun janai... 'Akatsuki', Sasuke, Kabuto ni tsuite no jouhou wo kiiteiru."
"I'm not asking for your life story... I'm asking for your intelligence on 'Akatsuki', Sasuke, and Kabuto."
[He addresses the other interrogators.]
IBIKI: "お前もいちいち感情移入するな"
"omae mo ichiichi kanjouinyuu suru na."
"And you, both of you... No empathizing."
INTERROGATOR: "す…す{み}ません"
"su... sumimasen."
"I... I'm sorry."
[Karin sits up and props her elbows on the table, looking bored and resigned and not weeping at all.]
KARIN: "チイ！ いいけどオ…条件があるぜこっちとしても"
"chii! ii kedo-o... jouken ga aru ze, kocchi toshitemo."
"Tsch! Fine, then... but I've got some conditions on my end, too."
INTERROGATOR: "条件だとオ！？"
"Jouken dato-o!?"
"What do you mean, 'conditions'!?"
KARIN: "まず一つ目ウチ腹へってる！取り調べっつたらカツ丼だろコラ！"
"mazu hitotsu me uchi hara hetteru! torishirabettsu tara katsudon daro, kora!"
"For starters, I'm starving! If you wanna investigate something, find me a pork bowl, jackass!"
[PAGE 5 - Shizune watches Tsunade eat a mountain of food.]
SHIZUNE: "ゆっくり食べてください！"
"yukkuri tabete kudasai!"
"Please, take your time eating!"
TSUNADE: "まだまだ足りん！"
"mada mada tarin!"
"It's still not enough!"
TSUNADE: "チャクラも元に戻ってない！！もっと食い物を持って来い！ 気を抜くとババアに戻っちまう！"
"chakura mo moto ni modottenai!! motto kuimono wo motte koi! ki wo nuku to babaa ni modotchimau!"
"My chakra still hasn't returned to what it was!! Bring me more food! If I loose concentration, I'll turn back into an old woman!"
SHIZUNE: "火影室の食材はもう底をつきました…今から食材を仕入れてきますので少し食休みを…"
"Hokage shitsu no shokuzai ha mou soko wo tsukimashita... ima kara shokuzai wo shiiretekimasu no de, sukoshi shokuyasumi wo..."
"We've already exhausted the food stores in the Hokage offices... I'll go to replenish our stocks now, so why don't you rest from eating a bit..."
[Tsunade looks at her with a full mouth and uncompromising eyes, terrifying the pig, Ton Ton.]
TON TON: "！！ ブヒッ？"
"!! buhi?"
"Oink?"
[PAGE 6 - Shizune becomes violently protective of Ton Ton.]
SHIZUNE: "！！ダッダメですよ！！何考えてるんですか！？この子は絶対ダメ！！"
"!! da-dame desu yo!! nani kangaeterun desu ka!? kono ko ha zettai dame!!"
"!! You can't do that!! What are you thinking!? You absolutely can't have her!!"
[Kakashi has entered the room]
TSUNADE: "何を言っている？"
"nani wo itteiru?"
"What do you have to say?"
SHIZUNE: "え？ あ カカシさん…"
"e? a, Kakashi-san..."
"Eh? Oh, Kakashi-san..."
KAKASHI: "お元気そうでよかったです"
"ogenki sou de yokatta desu."
"I'm glad you seem well."
KAKASHI: "あやうくオレが火影になるところでしたよ… ま…オレは火影ってガラじゃないし 今のこの状況下では顔のきく{綱手}様が火影でいてくれない とね』
"ayauku ore ga hokage ni naru tokoro deshita yo... ma... ore ha hokage tte gara janai shi, ima no kono joukyou ge de ha kao no kiku Tsunade-sama ga hokage de itekurenai to ne."
"I very nearly had to become Hokage just then. Well... I'm not the stuff Hokages are made of, so now that you've managed to pull yourself back into shape, I have to ask you to keep being Hokage, Tsunade-sama."
TSUNADE: "…忍連合とは驚いたが よく土影や雷影が協力する気になったものだな"
"...shinobi rengou to ha odoroita ga, yoku tsuchikage ya raikage ga kyouryoku suru ki ni natta mono da na."
"... I'm surprised by the Shinobi Alliance, but I see the Tsuchikage and the Raikage have decided to cooperate at last."
KAKASHI: "それだけマズイ状況が差し迫ってるって事です"
"sore dake mazui joukyou ga sashisematteru tte koto desu."
"Only because we've got one nasty situation pressing on us all."
TSUNADE: "うちはマダラ…本当に生きていたのか？"
Uchiha Madara... hontou ni ikiteita no ka?"
"Uchiha Madara... Was he really still alive?"
KAKASHI: "確証はありませんが… やろうとしていることから考えても まず間違いないかと"
"kakushou ha arimasen ga... yarou to shiteiru koto kara kangaetemo, mazu machigainai ka to."
"There's no absolute proof, but... considering it in terms of what happened when I tried to take him on, I'd say there's no mistake."
[PAGE 7 - Tsunade looks serious.]
TSUNADE: "…また戦争か うちはの因果が忍全てを苛む事になるとはな"
"...mata sensou ka. Uchiha no inga ga shinobi subete wo sainamu koto ni naru to ha na."
"... another war, then. It looks like the fallout from the Uchiha matter has come to torment all shinobi."
TSUNADE: "食後すぐに会議を開く！ 戦争の準備だ！
"shokugo sugu ni kaigi wo hiraku! sensou no junbi da!"
"We'll call a meeting as soon as I finish my meal! We're preparing for war!"
[The scene joins Naruto at Ichiraku Ramen. Sakura has just run in, and Naruto is excited.]
NARUTO: "え！じゃあツナデのばあちゃん大丈夫なんだな！！"
"e! jaa Tsunade no baachan daijoubu nanda na!!"
"Eh! So, Ol' Tsunade's doing all right!!?"
[Sakura grins broadly and laughs]
SAKURA: "うん！"
"un!"
"Yeah!"
[Naruto strikes a typical determined pose, fist in the air.]
NARUTO: "しゃ！！"
"Ja!!"
"All right!!"
TEUCHI (owner): "ツナデ様よかったじゃねーか！よし！今日はめでてーからラーメンおごりにしといてやる！"
"Tsunade-sama yokatta ja ne- ka! yoshi! kyou ha medete- kara ra-men ogori ni shitoite yaru!"
"Thank goodness! Tsunade's recovered. Okay! Since today's a celebration, the ramen's my treat!"
NARUTO: "え！いいのオ！？"
"Eh! ii no-o!?"
"What!? Really!?"
TEUCHI: "サクラの分も作ってやっから座りな！"
"Sakura no bun mo tsutte yakkara, suwari na!"
"Sakura, I'll make some for you, too, so have a seat!"
[She turns back to the door.]
SAKURA: "ううん 私はいいや まだ知らない皆にも教えてあげないと！ じゃまた後でねナルト！"
"uun, watashi ha iiya. mada shiranai mina ni mo oshieteagenai to! ja, mata ato de ne, Naruto!"
"No, none for me, thanks. I still have to tell everyone who doesn't know! Well, I'll see you later, Naruto!"
NARUTO: "安心したらますます腹へってきたってばよ！よーし！今日は食うってばよ！"
"anshin shitara masumasu hara hettekita ttebayo! yo-shi! kyou ha kuu ttebayo!"
"The easier my mind is, the hungrier I get! All right! I'm gonna chow down today!"
[Some ninja gather around a large disc that reads "Fire".]
[PAGE 8 - Inside a conference hall]
TSUNADE: "これより戦争に向けた作戦会議を始める"
"kore yori sensou ni muketa sakusen kaigi wo hajimeru."
"We will now begin our strategy meeting as we head toward war."
KOHARU: "ます忍具・食糧の備蓄を始めよ 忍を戦闘部隊と支援部隊に二分割して戦闘部隊の小隊の組み方を検討するのじゃ 全ての忍のリストをここへ"
"masu ningu, shokuryou no bichiku wo hajimeyo. shinobi wo sentou butai to shien butai ni nibun karishite, sentou butai no shoutai no kumikata wo kentou suru no ja. subete no shinobi no risuto wo koko he."
"First, begin stockpiling ninja tools and provisions. Now, we'll divide the shinobi into fighing units and support units, and we'll discuss how to group our fighters' platoons."
SHIKAMARU: "戦争か…いよいよ動き出したな"
"sensou ka... iyo iyo ugokidashita na."
"War, huh... so we've finally started rolling."
SHIKAKU: "作戦会議に呼ばれたとはいえ お前はまだ若い よく聞いてぬかりなくな"
"sakusen kaigi ni yobareta to ha ie, omae ha mada wakai. yoku kiite nukarinaku na."
"You may have been called to the strategy meeting, but you're still young. Listen well, and don't screw up."
SHIKAMARU: "ああ… 分かってる 頭フルに使って全て叩きこむ！"
"aa... wakatteru. atama furu ni tsukatte, subete tatakikomu!"
"Right... I know. I'll use my head all I can, and throw everything into this!"

[PAGE 9 - Back in Ichiraku's, Teuchi presents Naruto with his ramen.]
TEUCHI: "へい おまち！"
"hei, omachi!"
"Here ya go!"
NARUTO: "いただきーーーー"
"itadaki--"
"Thanks for the--"
[Naruto poofs out of view.]
TEUCHI: "アリャ？消えた？"
"arya? kieta?"
"What? He disappeared?"
[Naruto reappears, assumably on Myoubokuzan.]
NARUTO: "まーす！！"
"--masu!!"
"--food!!"
[PAGE 10 - Naruto looks at a table full of food, seemingly unfazed. He laughs and eats a large mouthful, but appears ill a moment later.]
NARUTO: "！？"
[The two old frogs are standing to the side.]
FUKASAKU: "いきなり飯にがっくとはの…"
"ikinari meshi ni gakku to ha no..."
"Well, didn't he just dig right in..."
SHIMA: "よっぽど私の虫料理が気に入ってくれとったんじゃねえ！！"
"yoppodo watashi no mushi ryouri ga ki ni itte kuretottan ja nee!!"
"He must've taken a real shine to my bug cuisine!!"
[Naruto's scream resounds over the landscape.]
NARUTO: "ぼっえ～～～～～～～！！"
"ho-e~~~~~~~!!"
"WHAT!!?"
[PAGE 11 - Some splash text at the top announces that, on April 8, Naruto: Shippuuden will be a one-hour special, followed by something I can't quite read due to the kanji being unclear. In the manga, Naruto has collapsed on the floor.]
NARUTO: "…何でまたここに？"
"...nande mata koko ni?"
"What'm I doing back here?"
FUKASAKU: "ワシが逆口寄せしたんじゃ ナルトちゃん{に}もこれから大ジジ様の予言が出る"
"washi ga gyaku kuchiyose shitan ja. Naruto-chan ni mo kore kara oojiji-sama no yogen ga deru."
"I did a reverse summon. In just a moment, the Great Elder means to give his prophecy to you as well."
FUKASAKU: "ワシについて来るんじゃ"
"washi ni tsuite kurun ja."
"Come with me."
SHIMA: "吐くなやーーーー！？"
"tsuku na ya~~~!?"
"Are you vomiting!?"
[Naruto arrives before the Great Elder.]
NARUTO: "オッス！！ 久しぶりデカじいちゃん仙人！！"
"ossu!! hisashiburi deka jii-chan sennin!!"
"Hey!! Long time, no see, Big Grandpa Sage!!"
FUKASAKU: "連れてきました"
"tsuretekimashita."
"I've brought him."
GREAT ELDER: "呼んだのは他でもない… え～～ 誰じゃったかいの？"
"yonda no ha hoka de mo nai... e~~ dare jatta kai no?"
"The one I called was none other... Ah... Who were you again?"

NARUTO: "うずまきナルト！ いいかげん名前覚えてくれってデカじいちゃん仙人ってばよ！"
"Uzumaki Naruto! iikagen namae oboetekurette deka jii-chan sennin ttebayo!"
"Uzumaki Naruto! Would'ya remember my name already, Big Grandpa Sage!?"
FUKASAKU (thinks): "はあ… 毎回このくだりをやらんといけんのかいな！"
"haa... maikai kono kudari wo yaran to iken no kai na!"
"Oh, must we go through this nonsense every single time?!"
GREAT ELDER: "おおそうじゃった！そうじゃった！… ナルトじゃ"
"oo sou jatta! sou jatta! ... Naruto ja."
"Oh, that's right! That's right! ... It's Naruto."
GREAT ELDER: "ナルトよ…お前への予言を見た お前はこれからタコに会う"
"Naruto yo... omae he no yogen wo mita. omae ha kore kara tako ni au."
"O Naruto... I have seen a prophecy that concerns you. Soon, you shall meet with an octopus."
[Naruto makes a non-plussed face and the background shows a typical octopus.]
NARUTO: "タコ？"
"tako?"
"Octopus?"
GREAT ELDER: "ワシもハッキリとは見えぬが タコの足に違いない… それからお前は… 眼に力を宿している少年と戦う事になる そして…
"washi mo hakkiri to ha mienu ga, tako no ashi ni chigainai... sore kara omae ha... me ni chikara wo yadoshiteiru shounen to tatakau koto ni naru. soshite..."
"I myself cannot see it plainly, but there is no mistaking the legs of the octopus... After this, you... you will come to fighting with a young man who carries power in his eyes. And then..."
[Naruto makes a serious face]

"aa... wakatteru."
"Yeah... I know."
FUKASAKU: "分かっておるとはどういう事じゃ？"
"wakatteoru to ha dou iu koto ja?"
"What're you sayin' that you already know?"
GREAT ELDER: "…お主… 見えたのか…？"
"...onushi... mieta no ka...?"
"You... have seen this yourself?"
NARUTO: "ああ…"
"aa..."
"Yeah."
GREAT ELDER: "あの眼に力を宿した少年…あやつが何者であるか分かったと…！？"
"ano me ni chikara wo yadoshita shounen... ayatsu ga nanimono de aru ka wakatta to...!?"
"And this boy whose eyes are infused with power... You know what manner of man he is...!?"
NARUTO: "うん… 全部覚悟してる"
"un... zenbu kakugo shiteru."
"Yeah... I'm prepared for all of it."
GREAT ELDER: "…"
[He turns to the Scroll Frog]
GREAT ELDER: "ガマ寅よ… ナルトへ蔵入りする予言も見た 四代目の封印の鍵を渡してやれ"
"Gamatora yo... Naruto he kurairi suru yogen mo mita. Yondaime no fuuin no kagi wo watashite yare."
"O Gamatora... I've also seen a prophecy that storage shall go to Naruto. Give him the key to the Fourth {Hokage}'s seal."
SCROLL FROG: "大じじ様が言うならしゃーないわい"
"oojiji-sama ga iu nara sha-nai wai."
"If that's your word, Great Elder, there's nothin' else I can do."
[PAGE 14 - The scroll unrolls in front of Naruto.]
NARUTO: "これって…？"
"kore tte...?"
"What is this?"
SCROLL FROG: "四代目火影が残したお前の腹の封印術を開け閉めする鍵じゃ！ これでしようと思えば九尾を野放しにだってできる"
"Yondaime Hokage ga nokoshita omae no hara no fuuinjutsu wo akeshime suru kagi ja! kore de shiyou to omoeba kyuubi wo nobanashi ni datte dekiru."
"This is the key left behind by the Fourth Hokage to open and close the sealing spell on your stomach! With this, should you wish to, you could even set the Nine-tails free."
SCROLL FROG: "そこの四角の所に手を押せ"
"soko no shikaku no sho ni te wo ose."
"Place your hand on that square area there."
NARUTO: "…"
SCROLL FROG: "これは{自来也}の言っとったあの術を完成させる手段を手に入れた事にもなるんじゃ"
"kore ha Jiraiya no ittotta ano jutsu wo kansei saseru shudan wo te ni ireta koto ni mo narun ja."
"With this, as Jiraiya said, the means to complete that spell will also be within your hands."
[PAGE 15 - Naruto touches his stomach and looks down thoughtfully.]
NARUTO: "…"
[Elsewhere, Anko examines a corpse.]
ANKO: "カブトの奴 どんどん大蛇丸に近づいてやがる しかし… なんでわざわざ痕跡を残していく… あいつなら…"
"Kabuto no yatsu. don don Orochimaru ni chikazuiteyagaru. shikashi... nande wazawaza konseki wo nokoshiteiku... aitsu nara..."
"Damn that Kabuto. Little by little, he's growing closer to Orochimaru. But... why would he purposefully leave these traces behind... He, of all people, could {cover them up}..."
KOU: "わざとって事ですか？何をする気なのでしょう？"
"waza to tte koto desu ka? nani wo suru ki nano deshou?"
"You think it's on purpose? What do you expect him to do next?"
ANKO: "おそらく大蛇丸の意志を継いでいる… 木{ノ}葉を狙うか”暁”を狙うかのどちらかだが… "
"osoraku Orochimaru no ishi wo tsuideiru... Konoha wo nerau ka, 'akatsuki' wo nerau ka no dochira daga..."
"He's most likely following after Orochimaru's will... And whether he's aiming for Konoha for for Akatsuki..."
[We see the head of a snake, which we learn on the next page is attached to Kabuto.]
KABUTO: "まずは…"
"mazu ha..."
"First of all..."
[PAGE 16 - Kabuto, wearing a cloak, stands atop a rib cage facing Tobi/Madara.]
KABUTO: "あいさつからだ… トビ"
"aisatsu kara da... Tobi."
"We begin with introductions... Tobi."
KABUTO: "…いや 今はマダラと名乗っているとか"
...iya. ima ha Madara to nanotteiru to ka."
"...No. I suppose you're going by Madara now."
MADARA: "ここがよく分かったな"
"koko ga yoku wakatta na."
"You seem to know me well."
KABUTO: "スパイとして国から国へ渡り歩き… ”暁”の一員でもあったボクの情報量をなめないほうがいい"
"supai toshite kuni kara kuni he watariaruki... 'akatsuki' no ichiin demo atta. boku no jouhouryou wo namenai hou ga ii."
"As a spy, I wandered from country to country... I've even met a member of 'Akatsuki'. You'd do well not to underestimate the extent of my knowledge."
MADARA: "サソリの… スパイの一員だったな… お前は”暁”の裏切者だ"
"Sasori no supai no ichiin datta na... omae ha 'akatsuki' no uragirimono da."
"You must have been one of Sasori's spies. That makes you a traitor to 'Akatsuki'."
[There's a large blast.]
