Has this fandom ever had a fanfic big bang? (The likes of [livejournal.com profile] fma_big_bang , [livejournal.com profile] dbsk_bigbang &c&c. You know the ones.) Am in dire need of longhard/pretty fic, and google/ljsearch/basicallyeverythingelse is refusing to cooperate with me. OTL

So yeah. If there's ever been a Naruto bigbang, could any lovely kindred spirit provide me with a map of some sort? And if there hasn't, can some other sexy person start one? If I'm not asking for too much.

Oh and if it helps I am a total comm whore.

I had a look around only a week or so ago, and turned up nothing as well. It would be really great if someone filled that hole in the fandom!

*laughs* Well, I think you've been nominated below to start one, and I second that nomination! This is what happens when you propose something new and fun!

I think it's a curious coincidence that it's called a Big Bang because then you get comm names like [livejournal.com profile] dbsk_bigbang, which on first read made me think it was a DBSK/BigBang crossover.

From what I can gather, a 'big bang' is a writing and art challenge where writers write a story and then the artists create art for it. If that's the case, I don't know of any community exactly like this in the Naruto fandom. There are communities like [livejournal.com profile] sn_exchange, [livejournal.com profile] oh_shit_santa, [livejournal.com profile] queershinobi100 and [livejournal.com profile] naruchallenge, which provide writers and artists with challenges separately. Check their userinfo for more details about each.

Maybe you should start one 8D

I know nothing about making and maintaining comms (and I'm not really interested in it either even if I am ~*totally*~ the coolest person evarrr~ /sparkles)

You should really have a think about it. Good comms have moderators who are really enthusiastic and you sound like you are. If you wanted help, maybe find out what's involved in making both general communities and big bang communities and then make another post on [livejournal.com profile] chuunin asking if anyone would like to help out. The worse it can do is not take off, but then that's not so bad. At least you gave it a shot!

I think this is a really good idea. You do seem to have the motivation and interest, and by asking for help on the community you'll probably attract people who either have more experience or similar levels of interest.

I wasn't really familiar with 'big bang' communities before right now, but as a fanartist who loves reading fanfic I would totally be interested if a community started up.... :3
