To the NejiNaru fans
Jun. 2nd, 2010 12:37 amHi everyone!
Since summer is upon us, I thought that it would be nice to have a little fun °^_^° So here is what I have to suggest:
Why don't we try to organize a NejiNaru Summer Exchange ?
Think about it: there could be fics, there could be fanart, and hopefully lots and lots of NejiNaru goodness!
I know that there are few of us. But we do exist and we do love NejiNaru! And we've got talent!
So please tell me what you think! Right now this is all very hypothetical, but if enough people are interested, think about all the fun we could have! *^_^*

Date: 2010-06-02 04:20 am (UTC)Most definitely, if you get enough people. I'm in, I'll just have to push myself.

Date: 2010-06-02 08:29 pm (UTC)There are too many SasuNaru's out there, anyway. xDHm, the most important thing would definitely the amount of people participating along with back-ups. Also, making sure that the amount of people drawing matches up with how many want pictures done. And, the same with writings.

Out of curiosity, how many people do you think would be enough (minimum)?

Date: 2010-06-02 06:08 pm (UTC)You don't really need judges for an exchange fest, but it certainly is possible. I'd say though, for a first one, to go without. But that's only if the NejiNaru community is as small (or scattered) as I fear it is (>.<").
If you're serious about this, I wouldn't mind making promotional posters and pimping banners or spreading word to naruto yaoi (or yaoi in general) communities. I'd also offer to help to decorate a community's layout/user profile page for the fest, or help with setting up guidelines/rules (or answering any questions you may have, assuming this is your first fest).
Hm. I guess a good way to start would be to make an interest poll to see just how many people are willing to take part and a banner/poster promoting the poll (appearances and everything).
I've talked enough, I think. Sorry for rambling ^^"

Date: 2010-06-02 06:48 pm (UTC)A poll, duly noted! Oh and it would be wonderful if you could make us a banner! You're right, appearances do count, so much!
And well, I don't know how busy you are right now, or how much of your time you'd be willing invest, but how much would you mind getting recruited? You seem to know a lot about how to organize an exchange fest and I could really need some help. I've taken parts in fests before so I have a general idea of what it's like, but organizing one is quite different.
I'm guessing the first step is promotion. And then, where to host the fest. I was thinking to host it at the nejinaru community, but it's been so dead of late that I wonder if that's the best idea. I was considering opening a new community just for the fest. What would be best do you think? >_< And I could definitely use some help with setting up the guidelines and rules. Like what would make a good deadline, word count for a fic and stuff like that.
Once again, thank you very much for your help, you're a life savior, really! *^_^*

Date: 2010-06-02 07:40 pm (UTC)I am pretty busy this time of year, but no worries, I can definitely make time.
And no worries! I ran my first fest last year and it was a real mess >.<" I know what you mean about feeling lost. Still, I learned a lot since then (both as a participant and a moderator). Happy to be useful to you.
I'll get on the poll banner right away. And I don't mind being "recruited" =) Fests are fun, and I'd be happy to help.
I think getting a general idea of how many people would be able to take part should be decided before making any other decisions (as it would be a bummer to set up a comm/layout and then realize a fest can't happen >.<"). In the poll, you should definitely include an inquiry about the best time to hold the fest for everyone and whether or not people would take part or just watch. I can have the poster done by tonight most likely (I need to head out in a moment), and send it to you and you can post it with the poll. I'd then start pimping everywhere I can.
About the hosting thing... well, there are definitely pros to having it at the nejinaru community. People are already members and we can spam all those member's Friend Pages as much as want. They'd have to notice the fest, eventually *g* The only issue that I see is that we'd have to get permission from the community's maintainer, and according to her journal, she hasn't been active since 2006. And I hope you're not offended by me saying this, but I really dislike the group layout/user info page and would really like to change it to something more festival-convenient, manageable, and, well, pretty. Unless, of course, you wish to do that yourself. I'm no HTML expert but I do know how to do the layouts and customize a journal and stuff. For all I know, though, you could be a pro at it.
Do you have any ideas for the poster/banner, or am I allowed free reign over the design? Also, I'm really not sure about the whole "NejiNaru" or "NaruNeji" thing. I pretty much ignore the whole seme/uke thing completely as it just doesn't interest me, so I don't know how you'd like to go about that. Is it something I should take into consideration?
About the banner again, is there anything you'd specifically like me to include, text/message-wise?
Also, would you mind telling me what time zone you're in? I'm EST.
Ja!

Here's a smaller version of the poster. Hm. We should probably exchange email addresses so our discussions wont be public.
