How to be a great filler episode baddie #1


Don't kill the annoying pink haired bimbo when she sticks her head in your pincers. Instead remove said pincers and wave them in threatening manner whilst taunting ninja who you Already Have In A Death Grip.

(Oh and Sakura, don't attempt to do anything about large mutant monster who can apparently be injured so long as you scream Arashi Niichan in a suitably angsty manner. Just, yeah, watch.
Even when you get shown up by a filler character. You know, you could help disrupt his jutsu, or stab him, or perhaps even scream his name enough times that he gets fed up...)

Oh No! This filler arc is about to end and I need to die in a suitably heroic manner!

Now you have finished your character development wussy angsting I can finally come in without having done anything remotely useful or anything...


Everyone: WTF???? Didn't they swear to come here to get Sasuke back no matter what? Huh?
Translation:
Well, journey (tick), humorous encounters (tick), meet new and annoying filler characters (tick)had at least one of them act in noble and inspiring manner (tick) saved by annoying shouting love of another (tick), teh angst (tick) done a big climactic battle (tick) Well, that's the enough action for one filler arc, it's about time we got back to canon now, so long and thanks for all the SMEXY KABUTO.
Everyone: AAARGH! This filler arc was actually going somewhere! YOU SUCK!

Isn't that what they always said to the kid in class that always came bottom, to try and make him feel better, though really it was because he sucked and everyone knew it?


Because, yeah, all those times you cried like a sissy and shouted 'Naruto' as I got beaten the **** out of was really y'know, inspiring.


Err.. if Sakura-chan wasn't there, you wouldn't be incapacitated with a major stab wound....

(OK at this point I admit to having a moment of if not Sakura tolerance, at least Sakura-isn't-a-complete-wiener-ness. Because y'know, everyone isn't good at everything, and it's a good lesson to learn, to find a way to use your strengths and not try and do things you can't, and all that, but This Is Why Canon Wins Mr Filler Arc Writer Man.)

At least it did give a reason for her to start her Tsunade training. I think in the manga she just turned up after Naruto had failed to get Sasuke back and said "Yo, make me a medical ninja".

Pretty much, but she'd already recognized that she hadn't been able to do anything for Sasuke and was fed up at that point too, without having to deal with super pruning shears or mutant zombies or crazy-cest within the Fuuma clan (see above shot, which I agree does look very wrong). The extended 'Wah, look at me I'm wimpy and NOW completely illogical!' mess that was the filler arc didn't do anyone any favors.
...Well, except for those shots of Kabuto. That made me happy.

I think the whole point was to make Sakura feel bad about not being able to help her teammates, which added to her justification of going to Tsunade. It all fit in.

It was done better than the angst parade they tried to give Sasuke in Tea Country, anyway.

Because we all know characters who aren't super strong suck and self-esteem is for losers. I hate fillers as much as the next guy, but frankly, I would much rather they made a larger buffer between the anime and manga so they didn't even out. That would suck.

I'd also like to point out that Sakura had a very good reason to be Tsunade's pupil anyway....b.c their team is identical to that of the Legendary Three anyway, so she would have to follow Tsundae's footsteps anyway...

...plus, who actually needs a reason...things happen all the time w.o reasons. No need to make us suffer w. hours of mind-numbing Sakura angst.

Btw, to add to the Sakura bashing, which amuses me as though I think she's a whiney and deeply creepy stalker girl, I neither like or dislike her, I would just like to say (again, as we're all being contraversial!) I have no interest in the Gaiden whatsoever. ^^ In fact, skip it. Skip it and cut to the sex Akatsuki. :PPP

Ok, I'm glad I'm not the only one who died a little inside when they saw there was going to be another filler arc instead of Kakashi Gaiden.

But in all honesty, how long is the Gaiden going to end up being in the anime? If they wanted to, they could cover it in only 1 episode. Or one extra long episode if they were feeling generous.

I may be pointing out the obvious here, but they don't have a choice BUT to do fillers right now. It's either that or else catch up in the manga (which would happen all too quickly), and then what? They'd have to make up their own storylines while waiting for the manga anyway. I mean, call me crazy, but I'd prefer to get these stupid fillers out of the way now and then know that they'll continue following the manga storyline faithfully later on.
