Me again! I completed my second set of icons (40 icons, plain character icons - 'cause it had to be done) in two days ^^ Have fun. The usual rules apply.

( Follow the road to the icon set... )

On another note, I'd like to mention the data books. I live in Japan right now, so I was able to pick these up for 571 yen each (which is roughly around 5.50USD each). I just bought them tonight, so I haven't had a chance to give them a proper look-over, but damn, is there lots of information. If I only had a scanner... T-T Sadly, my only scanner is back in the US. Anyway, the books are very pretty and incredibly useful for any fanfic/doujin writer/artist or just for the hell of it. Incredibly detailed, with lots of little manga panel bits thrown in there for good drawing reference. Does anyone else have either of these books, by any chance? They're a little tough to get if you're not in Japan, and unreasonably expensive, on top of that. I think if I knew how, I'd be willing to ship them out to people...for the good Samaritan-ness of it all.

Anyway, discussion abounds. Icons and books. Yay!

571yen? Have you been here long, that's pretty good! lol, not THAT much more expensive then manga (by about 100 yen, depending on the manga you're getting).

Where in Japan are you? ^_^ Are you studying abroad or eikaiwa/JET? I'm always looking fpr new people to hang out with when I leave my bumfuct inaka town.

Anyway, are the books really worth picking up? I've been debating them, because I like having stuff, but generally my stuff lust is for plushies, doujin, figures and other stupid shit that you can pick up in animate.

Oh, and YOKOSO JAPAN!!! =D Isn't it loverly here?

Ahh, I'm in Okayama-ken. =) I plan on going to a doujinshi event in October. If you are interested, it's October 29th, and I can get you more details (it might be difficult to do though, you're closer to Tokyo then Osaka, aren't you?)

I'm in the ken next to Hiroshima-ken. Sandwiched nicely inbetween Hyogo-ken (Osaka/Kobe area), Tottori-ken and Hiroshima-ken. Nice area, but I live waaaaaaay in the inaka (countryside). Sounds like you might too.

But we should definetly try and meet up sometime! Japan Narurtards Unite!

Hey, it's cool. =) There are LOTS of events, I wish I still had my book from Super Comic City.

However, Osaka-Kyoto-Kobe trip sounds awesome! I Studied abroad in Kobe so I'm a bit partial.

Totally understand that you've got restrictions, but it would be cool to meet up at some point, if you get the chance. =D

Um... Chocobo at the NF forums has already scanned the databooks all in. They got a partial clean in Shannaro, and mangahelpers has a databook section where a good number of the entries have already been translated and scanlated. Other translators have already translated a number of databook 2 entries as well.

I got my first databook for about 20 bucks. It was a really good deal, considering that it was imported and the guy selling it charges a fortune for the stuff he sells (he sold a pretty FFVII: Advent Children book for fucking 114 bucks. WTF??).

I'm waiting till he gets the second one. Hopefully, it'll cost less this time. =D

Oh snap. You want me to look for it? I can probably get it to you for less then $20. At cost, like. It doesn't cost much to send one volume via the post. I offer cause you are on my friends list, and I like you, haha!

(OMG, you like House too? YOU ROCK MY WORLD)

You like me! I feel... LIKED. =D

I'd love if if you'd get it for me! I would be SO grateful. Of course, you'd have to wait just a teeny bit before you send it to me; the moment I'm turning 18 in two months, I'm setting up a PayPal account so I will be able to pay any debts I may have and get me some goodies. So then? I'll be delighted!

(House is absolutely the best. It's a shame I missed the entire first season. T-T)

Mmmmm, BITTORRENT! That's how I've watched any of it. (Of course, I plan on getting the DVDs sometime before I leave Japan, you know, while I still make the money that I can spend on stuff like that).

Yeah, hey, it's no worries. I need to get my Paypal account verified, so I think it'll work out. =D

And if I didn't like you, I wouldn't have added you back! HAHAHA. even if i was lazy about it. Ahh, I'm SUCH a bum

Yup, I too have the databooks. Actually I was living in Tokyo when the second one came out, so I was able to get it on the very first day of its release. </geek> Don't have the fanbook though...

For serious, though, they are an incredibly useful reference. I always have them sitting around when I'm writing fanfic or doing RP planning...
