Akatsuki 50 Theme Drabbles!

Note: These weren't taken from any Japanese site or wherever other people get themes :S xkesshoux made them up for me when I was bored ^_^; Feel free to use them, just credit her! POSSIBLE SPOILERS ABOUND. At this point, the Akatsuki are spoilers in general for those who have just joined with the dub, so be careful!

Series: Naruto
Characters: The known members of the Akatsuki (with perhaps guest appearances)
Timeline: None, random.
Rating: Ummm.... max, PG-13, I suppose. :S The Akatsuki don't often curse, and all these are fairly innocent.
Genre: Everything from crack to drama to angst.

No, seriously. On the way into the store I ran into a dog named Tayuya. The owner said it was her daughter who named it. ^_^ It's good to know that I'm not the only Oto fan out there. Not to mention I was walking with an Orochimaru cosplayer at the time....I think she wanted to drag the dog back with us...O.O

Anyway, on to the second point of this post. Hi, I'm new here and all that jazz XD. I've watched this comm for a bit, but decided not to jump in until now. Hope I'll like it here. ^_^

Two weeks into uchihaprodigy's February contest/challenge with just two weeks to go, and we're looking for more entries! It's open to all forms of entries, including icons, drabbles and fanfiction, graphic manips, fanart, essays, and whatever else you can think of. Basically, the challenge can be responded to in any way you like, as long as it fits the theme: Love. A while ago, I signed up for an RPG called new_roots in which the mission was to take Naruto canon and turn it on it's head. Unfortunately, the RPG died shortly after I joined but the ingenuity of it's storyline lived on in my head. I adopted a few of the basic plot conventions from that RPG (such as the sand siblings being the children of the Hokage, Itachi being a legendary Sannin, ect.) but the core storyline and plot for this fic were pulled completely from my own brain once I started thinking: "Well, what if THIS had been different..."

So what exactly is this fic supposed to be? It's an AU where everything is different, yet exactly the same. Naruto still has the Kyuubi, the Yondaime is still dead, the legendary Sannin are still broken. But Itachi never killed his clan, Kakashi never had the Sharingan and the Akatsuki have never existed. The team formations are different and character relationships, positions in society, alligiences and ages are all subject to change. The story is still about the Biju demons and still works on the basic theme of what it truly means to be strong, but events play out very differently. In a few words, this story is how things could have been, but weren't.

And, uh, thus I present you with Legends, the fanfic that has been eating my brain.

Well, didn't think it was *that* earthshattering an episode, image wise, this week. However, never put off, I capped some bits anyway, and here we go!

We all know that they've been running these fillers for all of the fall and winter so that they can let the manga get farther ahead so that the anime won't catch up for a while. But, does anyone feel that, even though it's been more then a year since the time jump in the manga, I feel like not that much has happened. The pace of it can't translate to more then 15 or so episodes (at the most? They can't stretch alot of it. I can't see the 12 chapter fight being more then two episodes.) not including the gaiden. I don't know, I'm just really worried about what's going on with the pacing. And thus, how quickly it's going to be running out of material, and back to filler.

Gaara cosplay

Hi there! I have come to you with a very special request.

A month from now, I'm going to a convention. And so, I decided to go as Gaara! Despite being female, tall, blonde and eyebrow-ed. XD But, see, I already have a Suna hitai-ate, and I love Gaara, and his first outfit is quite simple. So why not?

What I'm asking is for tips on how to make the costume work. I am especially looking for tips from people who have actually cosplayed Gaara before and therefore know what I'm going for. Specifically, I am mostly looking for a way to make the gourd and the gourd strap, and wondering how should I go through with the makeup, the love kanji and the hair. But really, any help would be appreciated.
